The FSA @WeAreTheFSA #StopExploitingLoyalty campaign launches this weekend.
Whilst BIAS acknowledges that Brentford supporters are still able to access relatively affordable tickets in comparison to many other fans, we fully support this campaign for affordable football for everyone.
Rising ticket prices and removal of concessions across various Premier League clubs has made football less affordable for loyal fans. Feedback from FSA-member supporter groups suggests Premier League prices have gone up by around 7% although this masks a range of increases – including the reduction and removal of concessionary pricing for young and older supporters”?
Whilst we did see a 10% increase in season ticket prices at Brentford for this season, this was the first increase for a number of years and came with the ability to spread the cost of season tickets over 12 months rather than 10 months to help with the affordability of renewing season tickets. Match day ticket prices were also frozen for this season.
BIAS will always campaign for affordable ticket prices for all and we are keen to show solidarity with supporters of other football clubs who do not have a similar level of engagement with their Club as ourselves. We are looking forward to discussions with Brentford FC via the FAB and ticketing working group to ensure prices for next season remain affordable at Brentford FC.
We will be meeting with Ipswich Town Supporters before Saturday’s game to show our support for this campaign. Details of the FSA campaign can be found here Fan groups stage #StopExploitingLoyalty protests – Football Supporters’ Association
