With all seats on Hounslow Council contested this May, Hounslow Liberal Democrats have launched a borough-wide listening exercise. The party’s new residents’ survey aims to put community priorities—including street cleanliness, crime, and pothole repairs—at the top of the local political agenda ahead of polling day on Thursday 7th May.
The survey is being hand delivered by Liberal Democrat volunteers to addresses across the borough and is also available to complete on the local Liberal Democrat website. Roger Crouch, Chair of Hounslow Liberal Democrats, said: “Too often candidates for local elections do not spend enough time listening to residents. Canvassing should be more than gathering data. For Liberal Democrats, community politics is at the heart of our approach to politics. Before the local election campaign gets started officially at the end of March, we want to spend time listening to residents and learning about their priorities.”
Judith Trounson, Vice-chair of Hounslow Liberal Democrats, added: “Our early survey returns indicate that residents are really concerned about roads scarred by potholes and a sense that our local environment is not being cared for by the local council. We will be raising these issues during the election campaign and on the council if elected in May.”
