Detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command have launched a murder investigation following the death of a 71-year-old woman in Hounslow.
Police were called to a residential address on Bath Road shortly after 10:00am on Sunday 1st March, following reports of a woman with significant injuries. Despite the efforts of the London Ambulance Service, she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. A full investigation is underway, though no arrests have been made at this early stage.
Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Denby who is leading the investigation, said: “This is a tragic incident in which a woman has lost her life. We are working to establish the full circumstances of what happened, and we are keeping an open mind to pursue all lines of inquiry.
“We urge anyone who was in the area of Bath Road, who may have seen or heard anything unusual, to come forward. Even small pieces of information can prove vital.” Residents can expect to see extra patrols in the local area to provide reassurance following the incident.
