A Metropolitan Police officer has been dismissed without notice after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a woman at a pub.
PC Jason Capery was found to have breached the standards of professional behaviour at a misconduct hearing on Tuesday 10th March.
The panel heard that PC Capery, of the Central West Basic Command Unit, acted inappropriately towards a woman who was known to him while off duty at a pub in Marylebone.
On Wednesday 4th February, Capery pleaded guilty to sexual assault by touching at Westminster Magistrates' Court.
On Friday 6th March he was sentenced to a 12-month community order and was made to pay court fees of Β£199.
Detective Chief Superintendent Christina Jessah, who leads policing in central west London, said: ββThe actions of PC Capery fell well below the standards expected for a serving police officer.
ββWomen deserve to feel safe in London. It is imperative that our officers maintain high standards at all times and there is no place for inappropriate behaviour within the Met.
ββWe are working hard to make sure anyone who does not reach these standards is removed from the force.ββ
