Around 60 firefighters were called to a fire at a derelict building in Perivale on Wednesday evening (08/04)
Firefighters were called to Horsenden Lane South at 17:58 with crews from Wembley, Chiswick, Ealing and surrounding fire stations attending the scene.
The fire was under control by 19:46. Most of the roof and first floor of a row of the derelict terraced flats were damaged by the fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
Station Commander Justin Randtoul, who was at the scene, said: “Firefighters worked hard to bring the blaze under control and remained on site throughout the evening.
"The fire was generating significant smoke, and we strongly advised local residents and businesses to keep windows and doors closed.
“We asked people to avoid the area wherever possible, as road closures were in place, which was causing congestion.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
